Wang Zhijun noted, by the end of 2020, the scale of China’s IoT industry had exceeded 2.4 trillion yuan, the number of relevant patent applications had exceeded 10,000 in cumulative terms, and a complete industrial chain covering intelligent sensing, information transmission and processing, and application services had taken primary shape. Both the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) for National Economic and Social Development and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035 have taken the IoT as one of the seven key industries of the digital economy, aiming to promote the IoT’s all-round development and apply the IoT in infrastructure and make it intelligent. We will fully implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on promoting the IoT’s development, and follow the Three-Year Action Plan for the Construction of IoT Infrastructure jointly issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other seven ministries, remain innovation-driven, improve the industrial ecology, accelerate the construction of IoT infrastructure, deepen application services in key areas, improve the development environment, and expand opening up and cooperation to promote the IoT’s high-quality development so as to better serve the real economy and the improvement of people’s livelihood.

Hu Guangjie said, Jiangsu, seizing the opportunities brought about by transformation of traditional industries with digital technologies and the development of digital industry, has made notable progress in IoT’s development by focusing on the development of the National Sensor Network Innovation Demonstration Zone in Wuxi, and a layout of the IoT industry with Wuxi as the core, and Suzhou and Nanjing as the support, which play a driving role for the whole province, has taken primary shape. It is hoped the WIOT will serve as a platform and bond that deepens cooperation in the IoT technology and industry, so that the IoT will better promote high-quality development and create a quality life.
