China and Croatia Work Together to Create New Investment and Cooperation Platform

On the morning of April 10, witnessed by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, Chinese Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan and Croatian Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Establishing a Joint Work Group on Investment and Cooperation Under the Framework of the Economic Cooperation Joint Committee Between the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts of the Republic of Croatia in Zagreb, capital of Croatia. The China-Croatia investment and cooperation joint work group is a new platform for investment and cooperation created by the two sides to further expand two-way investment and push the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries to a new level.

Since the establishment of the comprehensive cooperation partnership in 2005, especially with the in-depth development of “16+1 cooperation”, China and Croatia have carried out fruitful cooperation in investment and infrastructure construction. After the signing of the memorandum, in the spirit of pragmatic cooperation, the two sides will invite their enterprises, chambers of commerce, financial institutions and local governments to have common consultations not only on strengthening information exchange on policies, but also on how to analyze issues in bilateral investment and cooperation and give recommendations, including consultations on how to improve the investment environment, and address barriers and issues in specific investment and cooperation projects. At the same time, the bilateral investment and cooperation work group will also strive to explore opportunities for cooperation between the enterprises of the two countries and provide face-to-face channels and platforms for investment and cooperation projects.
