MOFCOM Announces the Preliminary Ruling on the Anti-dumping Investigation against Imports of Methyl Isobutyl Ketone Originating in the Republic of Korea, Japan and South Africa

On November 20, 2017, MOFCOM released Announcement No. 70 of 2017, announcing the preliminary ruling on the anti-dumping investigation against the imports of methyl isobutyl ketone originating in the Republic of Korea, Japan and South Africa.

 

MOFCOM preliminarily ruled that there was dumping of methyl isobutyl ketone originating in the Republic of Korea, Japan and South Africa, the domestic methyl isobutyl ketone industry was substantially damaged, and there was a causal relationship between the dumping and the substantive damage. MOFCOM decided to launch provisional anti-dumping measures in the form of cash deposits.

 

According to the ruling, the import operators shall pay relevant cash deposits to the Customs of the People’s Republic of China according to the dumping margins (15.9%-190.4%) determined by this ruling for each company when importing methyl isobutyl ketone originating in the Republic of Korea, Japan and South Africa since November 20, 2017.

 

The product is listed under tariff number 29141300 in the Customs Import and Export Tariff of the People’s Republic of China.
